New law (taxes) for oil companies … Your thoughts?
Apparently Congress just passed a law that big oil companies, that it would cost about 1.8billion dollars in tax would be the first year, and this money will be used to do research on renewable energy. Of course Bush with the oil companies in his pocket, says he will this bill, wow, what a surprise veto. Others claim that it singles out a particular industry … that I ask is not that virtually the same thing we did to go the big tobacco companies? So what others think of this, it would be so bad, back 1% of the large Oil companies to take profits to do this research? When replying to you is to read the question, this is a tax on oil companies to fund research not an increase to taxpayers, whether they can have an effect on the price of gas (just say it is controllable and can not) it is a good idea? Also, it is only in the best interests of those companies that remain in the field of energy, want their own research.
I like it.
